Ramsey Homsany

Co-Founder, Octant, Inc.; Technology Investor and Advisor (former General Counsel, Dropbox)

Ramsey Homsany is co-founder of Octant, Inc., a synthetic biology company, and an investor and advisor to startup technology companies. Mr. Homsany was previously the general counsel at Dropbox, where he had roles leading Dropbox's legal, digital security, government affairs, human resources, and communications teams. During that time, Dropbox raised 1 billion dollars in capital, grew to more than 500 million users, and was the fastest SAAS company in history to reach 1 billion dollars in revenue run rate. Prior to Dropbox, Mr. Homsany was vice president and deputy general counsel at Google, where he managed Google's commercial legal groups, as well as Google's Latin America legal team, and negotiated some of the internet industry's largest partnerships.

Previously, Mr. Homsany was an attorney in the Technology Transactions Group at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He was a lecturer of law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, has represented pro-bono indigent clients seeking political asylum, and has lectured at universities across the country on intellectual property and technology policy issues. Mr. Homsany also serves on the board of directors of Represent.us, the leading anti-corruption democracy reform organization, and Sharethrough, Inc., the leading native advertising automation company.

Mr. Homsany holds a B.S. in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from Rutgers University, and a J.D. from New York University.
