Social Media Countdown Challenge May 10-14
- All graduates are eligible to participate, and all posts must be public
- Tag us in each challenge with the hashtag of the day. Find the hashtag in the challenge description.
- One entry submitted via the SOE social media channels will be selected per challenge.

Thursday May 13, 2021 Appreciation Day: Post a photo of you holding a sign of congratulations to your fellow classmates or a thank you to a family member, professor, or dean (i.e. I DID IT MOM AND DAD THANK YOU!, see printable signs above) tag us #SoEIDIDIT
Friday May 14, 2021 Big Day Celebrations: Create a TIK TOK video of your home celebrations and tag us #SoEBIGDAY #rutgers_engineering. Feel free to incorporate any viral challenges/trends in your TikTok, or use your own creativity to make the video.
Party Checklist
- Invite your friends and family to your celebration, click on the electronic invitation to download and email to your guests. Please note that the link on the invitation will be LIVE on May 14th, at 4 p.m.
- Have your friends and family RSVP to our Facebook Event and book mark our convocation web page (Live ONLY on May 14th @ 4 p.m.)
- Complete today’s social media challenge for a chance to win some RU Swag! Use the social media stickers on your posts.
- Who goes to a party without snacks? Make sure to stock up on your favorite snacks!
- Mocktails or cocktails - Create your special drink
- Decorate:
- Print out some signs
- Get balloons, banners, confetti
- Cue up the Spotify Playlist
- How are you going to stream? Test your connection
- Set up your screen to play on a large television for better viewing
- Set up your Zoom or Webex call
- Add a graduation Zoom background to your device
Host a Zoom WATCH PARTY on Convocation Day
TIP: Rutgers SoE students, faculty and staff already have access to Zoom through their Rutgers NetID, and SoE themed Zoom backgrounds are available.
TIP: Make sure you give yourself time before and after the Convocation ceremony by setting the meeting to start at 3:30 p.m. CST and end after 6 p.m. CST.
TIP: Invited guests don't need to have access to Zoom to participate by phone; however, they will not be able to share your video screen to watch the commencement ceremony.
